An RV is a building that drives, and it fails like one. The most expensive damage almost never starts on the panels people look at — it starts on the roof, where nobody looks until water is inside. It is also a job that only has to be done once if it is protected afterwards — a ceramic coating over restored fiberglass slows the UV breakdown that caused the oxidation in the first place and turns future washes from a weekend into an afternoon.
